Central Zone Elite Underwater Hockey (Regionals)
The Wellington Underwater Hockey Association (WUHA) appoints coaches to run trials for the men's and women's teams made of players from the Central Zones region. From the trials, 4 teams are selected to play at the annual Elite Interzone Championship (2 x Men's, 2 x Women's).
The New Zealand Elite Interzone Championships are organised for the zone teams from around the country to battle it out to become champions. The tournament is played at the Wellington Regional Aquatic Centre every year in March / April.

2025 Central Team Results
Tournament dates: 21-23 March 2025 at the Wellington Regional Aquatic Centre.
An Impressive display of talent and skill was on display and the Central teams did us proud. Central Women's A came away with gold medals winning 1-0 against Northern A (and call out for only 1 goal scored against them the entire tournament). Central Men's A played a fantastic tournament to win Silver coming up against Northern A in the final. Central Men's B placed 6th overall - not a bad result with only 9 players! The Central Women's B had a phenomenal tournament (especially with some young talent to watch out for) coming in 5th place by winning in overtime against Mid Northern.
