                      Mini League

Mini League is for primary school students, mostly year 7 and 8.  It is an introduction to Underwater Hockey in an environment where experienced players, coaches and referees make sure everyone has a great opportunity to try the sport.

Teams are made up of a maximum of 12 players with 6 in the water per team at any time.

Each night teams will play between 5 and 9 games, which are 14 minutes long.

                      Where
All Mini Leagues are held at Huia Pool, Lower Hutt.

                      When
They are held Saturday 4.30pm - 10pm on specified dates throughout the year.
The 2012 dates are as follows: March 31st, May 12th, June 16th, July 28th, August 18th, September 15th, October 27th, and November 24th

What do you need to bring on the night?
Towels, togs, food and a drink bottle (there are facilities at the pool to refill your bottle throughout the night).   All gear will be provided, however if you have a mask, snorkel or fins bring them along.

                      Please note:
                      1. Players who play in the WUHA schools and clubs league are ineligible to play at Mini Leagues.  This is because the Mini League is a place to allow kids to try out the sport in an environment where everyone is learning together.
                      2. Teams are not allowed to have players from other schools playing in their team without prior approval from the Mini League coordinators.
                      3. Teams are not permitted to hold regular training sessions as the Mini Leagues are not regular events, they are fun tournaments not a competitive league.  Of course one off introductory training sessions to teach teams how to use the gear and basic rules are allowed.
